Does anyone have a link to where I might find the tech specs on the Transynd fluid? I'm trying to run a side-by-side comparison of Mobil Delvac Synthetic ATF and Castrol Transynd. The link to the pdf on Castrol's website for the TSynd specs is missing.

It looks like Mobil Delvac has the same TES-295and Allison C-4 ratings as Transynd.

Thanks

The numbers match the TranSynd specs. I will have a Citgo replacement fluid here next week with the same specs and much better price. I would venture to say Mobil will have a wiinner with this fluid.

I was just at the allison dealer to get some filters and they were saying that the TranSynd was the best thing out their. Much better then the mobile one and that if I didn't have TranSynd in the allison that it could possibly not be covered under warranty.
They wanted $30 a gallon for the TranSynd. They made it sound like it was the best thing out their and your tranny would fall apart with out it.
I don't really feel like spending $30 a gallon for the TranSynd.
So is the mobil better then the TranSynd?

You wont convince me that Transynd is the best.. It is very good, but I dont feel its the best.

I don't think anyone can tell you if the new Mobil or Citgo Allison rated fluids are better than Castrol except for the oil companys themselves. They did the high dollar testing. Allison set the specs for what they feel they needed in a fluid and now we have 2 new players that have met those specs. Did any one of them exceed the specs? Maybe. I certainly would not hesitate using the 2 new fluids; these are well known companys that make some mighty fine lubricants.

So mobil and citgo made allison specific fluids? Or do you mean they are dex3 and thus approved?

I've personnaly seen mobil 1 fluid that was in a VERY pissed off trans and the fluid didnt burn or smell weird. Actually I think if it woulda turned colors it woulda sped diagnosis but the fluid looked fine so everything was assumed to be happy. Dont know if its better or worse but it seems to work good IMO

TES295 is not that difficult of a performance standard. The problem is that they intentionally made it extremely expensive to pass the tests. Given that it's a low volume product, most oil co's aren't bothering to get their Mercon V products tested. This is while you'll see "meets performance requirements" on a lot of datasheets. I hope this isn't a successful venture for them, I'd hate to see it become an industry trend...

i switched to mobil1 after seening the pissed of tranny that rat is talking about. i have an idea of what that tranny went though and the fluid looked brand new, was using transynd and the fluided turned colors on me(got darker) after just a few thousand miles. mobil1 still looks the same. dont know if that means anything but i would think its easier to identify a problem by watching fluid color.
