just got around to stack my hot juice with quad and of course had to max it out. juice on 5 and 5 and quad on 215 around 80mph truck seemed to quit running and then pulled hard and quit again couple seconds later. is this bursting. have the dual pumps coming from john kennedy. not here yet. on 4 it pulled like hell and had to get out of it and atitude still showed 106mph 13.2.:ro) i know its not the track, but its was within a 10th of a sec at the track before. i was running my slicks also and they hook with no spinning as with daily tires truck would spin mad when second gear hit.
i guess question is will truck pull through 1/4 with liftpumps on level 5.
thanks steve

Feels like your cycling the key on and off but in this case fuel rapidly.Depending on throttle position it can be a bit vicious and felt through the entire drive train.

Feels real weird on the street let alone a dyno

Steve, that is exactly the way mine behaves. HJ on 5 it pulls and surges, very jerky, but on 4 it runs perfect!!:) That surging is the bursting, unfortunately many have added the pumps and still cannot run on 5 while others can run on 5 all day long without pumps. If nothing else the pumps will relieve some duty from the CP3 and help it to last longer from what I've read.

Try the 135 Quad with the Edge on 5/5 with low boos fueling on the highest setting and no-defuel on all shifts.........

Lemme know if it feels ahy better.............

I never had success when I ran the stack with the JUICE over Level 3.......up to Level 3 it would be fine..........

I know the Quad Tunes have changed recently so it's a guess depending on vVersion Number of the Quad and the Juice..........

You guys need to see what all your version numbers are first to see if the comparison is accurate........

Good Luck.......

I have a new Quad 215 N2O stacked with a HJAT. Run both at top levels on the street >100mph. No burst or surge noticed. Have not used N2O with them yet. Have a SD lift pump. I think that really helps.

What causes Bursting? Lack of fuel, not enough air? Or is this one of the great unsolved mysterys?

Could be a few things.Bottom line the programming stacked or single has gone out past the capabilities of the fuel system.

Injector pulse, FRPC valve closing trying to raise fuel rail pressure come to mind.

Mild bursting can be helped with a proper outside source of fuel delivery,as in a lift pump but not in all cases.I've seen ambient temps also cause problems -:t

Did you have your max egt alarm turned off? Could be the edge defueling due to high egt's maybe. What I call bursting is surges in rapid succession.

I do have it off, but have been told it does still go into fail safe mode and defuels until you disconnect the pyro fittings all together. seen its effect on dyno before. have had it defuel and quit pullin in 1/4 before and as the night got cooler I could get it to pull farther down track and drop tenths off before it would fall flat on its face. i'm getting gauages soon.

i have noticed that a lot of people talking about bursting have afe stage II intakes,
K & N or some other after market air intake. Before I added my afe stage II I did not get any bursting with the edge set to 5/5 and predator set to 40 hp. Since I installed the afe I started seeing bursting with several different stacks. I am gonna put back on the factory air box and see what I can do with stacks. I've since upgraded to a suncoast III in the tranny, So I will run it hard in larger stacks and see what happens.

I have the stock airbox and I get bursting when my fuel filter is getting up in miles with the E/J 5/5 and pred 40hp tune. If I have clean fuel filters I can get away for a while with the E/J 5/5 and Predator on 65hp w/out bursting.

Of course I have an LLY so results may vary.

I meant to say the edge in 3/5 on the above thread, not 5/5.

just replaced my fuel filter yesterday and still got burst, hopefully pumps will help or i'll just run it in the 5 low and 4 on atitude and of course quad 215. been driving it around with juice both set to 0 and it drives fine with a little surge right off idle.

For some unknown reasons I'm able to run 215/5/5 without problem but it burst like hell when I do 190/5/5 or 190/4/5 or 190/3/5. Go figure...

In my case bursting only happens when I let the fuel filters get to filled up.

Me too:exactly: For some unknown reasons I'm able to run 215/5/5 without problem but it burst like hell when I do 190/5/5 or 190/4/5 or 190/3/5. Go figure...
