FYI guys,
The other day I started my 2005 DMax 2500hd with 1300 mi., backed it out of the driveway and it suddenly stalled. I couldn't restart it and I tried to purge / prime the fule filter with the top mounted pump. Still would not start, so I had it towed in. The tech tells me that I had air in the fuel line for unknown reasons. He was able to start the engine after he purged and primed the fule filter pump as I did, but with the following difference: After fuel bleeds out of the purge screw, close the screw and pump the fuel filter several more times until the pump is very hard to push down. I guess that did it......Still no answer as to why I had air in the system.......Until I'm stranded out at the lake, I guess I won't know if his fix really worked....try it and let me know if you run into this problem and it works......
