Just wondering if you guys would be interested in custom made sub box for behind seat of crew cab....starting on one for my new truck will fit up 12's...rear of box will be fiberglassed to get the most airspace possible. Will take lots of pics. I will be making mold of rear wall so I can duplicate them over and over.

did rear seat thing and it is not as efficiant as under seat mount, dont wast time on this eaven with two twelves the seat just eats up dbs. where the under mnt. you still get full interior cab gain, plus it is cleaner tighter bass, good luck

If you build the box right, it sounds great. Actually the way I built mine it sounds better and hits harder with the seat up.

The steel plates they put in the rear seat backs to make them work as shelves when folded down really eat up the sound and will start to rattle after time. I've had better luck with the under seat box and mounting the amps behind the seats. I bet a lot of people would be interested in a nice box for 12's under the seat. The prefab boxes from Sub Thump and others only allow for 10's I think. I built mine for 12's and it's a little tight but sounds a lot better than the 10's. Just my $.02,

BlueOx03, I like your speakerbox, very clean and neat great job! I am just in a dilemma, I can't make my mind up on the subthump box or one like yours? both look good. I am not into any heavy thumping just a little extra if you no what I mean. I have a 10 in my ranger ext cab and it sounds great. I was leaning toward the single downfire box from subthump, but now after looking at yours tough decision. Again your truck looks great, take care.

2500dMax,
If all you want is a little extra, behind the seat is ok. My 4-8" subs will drop on the right note, im sure the seat muffles them badly but they sound great. For a sound quality system behind the seat isnt all that bad. Ive got pics of my install somewhere in this thread.

Just saw your behind the seat photos. VERY NICE. This is what I want to put in my c/c. Can you show me how to build the box that you have? thanks.

Has anyone tried to use the seatback to slot load the drivers? I know it will eat up some valuable space but my experience with slot loading is incredible when done right. Or there is always a dual chamber box with a single driver, has the spl of 2! With a Punch 40 on a dual chamber 10 box I had I hit 130db at a competition in 1995. Not a window breaker but good sound and lots of it for everyday listening. Just some ideas for you.
