I will be upgrading to a Duramax very soon but will be going from a Crew Cab down to Ext cab. I was wondering if you can mount amps behind the back seat? Does it flip down? Were is everyone mounting their amps? I have two amps and 2 10" subs that I want to put in the truck.. Any help woule be great..

The Ext cab actually has more room behind the rear seat and under it for subs and amps. in my 99 you had to unhook the back of the rear seat to get to the cab wall, I think on the newer ones the seat actually lean forward but I'm not possitive. Man I wish I had more room in my crew cab.

I put my subs under the rear seat and then the amp was dead center in the rear seat (half of it stuck out!) but on the crew cab I think the rear seat does fold down and the bottom part folds forward making a flat surface in the back...I think

The new EXT cab is bolted with about 8 18mm nuts to the floor, and seat back is hooked to the cab. It does not flip down, the seating area flips up. Remove all nuts, then lift up on the seat back to remove. Is there alot of room back there? Not really. But probably enough for amps. It's unfinished behind the seat.

Thanks guys.. I was hoping I would not have to loose the killer radio setup I have now. Its great on the long drives to have Sirius or the IPod...
