I am thinking about getting a set of horns for my truck. I can't decide where to mount the compressor and horns. I am looking for some ideas and pictures if you have some. Thanks....

I have been trying to come up with some place to mount mine also. I have two Viair pumps, a five gallon tank , a three gallon tank, and a triple air horn that I pulled off my Excursion that I lemon lawed. I have tried to fit them on my truck but not having very good luck with a location. I think that if I didn't install a Titan tank that I might have more room.

I have a Viair compressor with a 2.5 gallon tank that I mounted under my passenger side rear fender. It is just in front of the wheel wheel. I have a single air horn (Air horns of Texas 1510) which is about 2 feet long mounted behind the grill. See my garage for the pictures.

I bought the Heavy duty onboard air system, which has the 325c compressor. it came as a kit with compressor, air tank and all hook ups needed.

I ran the 12v up to the battery and then ran the fused switch into the cab under the driver seat. I hooked up the switch power to a keyed 12v source so the compressor can only turn on when the truck is on. I just used one of the connections in the fuse panel by the parking brake.

You might want to be careful running the 12v directly through the switch to the pump because of the high current (amp draw) when switching on the pump. The switches have small contacts in them and will fail after a period of time. The correct and safest way would be to run your 12v source from your battery to a relay then use your keyed source to fire the relay. Relays are rated for higher current draw and have large contacts in them to handle the current.

I did my last pumps like that (and will do the same on my new install), my off road lights, and my HID's.
