Did a research and found that the TSB only applies to pre 04's. My A/C sucks and I'm getting irratated. Help.

Hmm... This TSB indicates it's for the LB7 & the LLY which would mean a 04.5, should be the one you need to take to your dealer.

I had that update done on my 04 LLY and it works good. It only applies if you have a Denso compressor. If you have a Delco compressor you are SOL.

How do I know unless I bring it in?

I had a 04.5 and it did suck and the stealer only bandaid fixed it. I got the 05DRW, and my daughter and wife now have to have a blanket, and I have it set at 72, on my side 75 on my wifes side, and it will give you arthritis.

Look on the compressor label. It will say Denso or Delco.

Take the TSB to the dealer and have them to order the parts and do the necassary changes.

Can someone post a picture of where this label is? I can't seem to find a label any where on my compressor.

I can't help with a picture, but perhaps a description of where mine is located will help. If the front (belt side) of the compressor were a clock, the label would be at 11::00 oclock on the top. Its kind of a silver label (on mine) so you may need to wipe the dust off to see it.

If you have an LLY you may need the update. New A/D bottle, hose, recharge.

How do I get my dealer to replace the accumulator? I brought in the truck and the TSB, they say the output from the vents is within range given the outside ambient temp and humidty.

I don't see anything in this TSB about checking vent temps, all I see is make sure it doesn't have any leaks and make sure the charge pressure is correct. After that change the accumulator!

I might just have to bring it to another dealership this one seems to be a pain in my Censored !

Man those idiots did the same to me! When the questionarre comes in the mail, fill it in with low ratings , send it back. Then call em and reschedule.

Vent temps, total horse crap. Has snothing to do with the temp of the cab. They will put it in the shade, throw the fan on low, recirc, and naturally, after an hour, get 48 degrees for vent temps. Hmmmm. Funny, I don't drive around this way, and my eyes are blowing gaskets from the heat.

Don't settle, the new accumulator added a third to the capacity of my ac, not kidding. On a 116 degree day, my cab goes from 130 degrees to 77 in 15 minutes. Vents temps lower 40's, before I couldn't get the fan down off high.

Just bug em till they get sick of you.

Had mine at the dealers today and got the same run around.. they just recharged the system and said it blew cold air..Ya, unless it's hot outside.. and it's cool air and only if the vents are pointing at you do you feel it.. Tried getting it fixed last year to.. before the TSB.. just sent email to chev and copied the dealer.. At least when I had Fords I expected this kind of stuff. After my 2002 2500 piston slap special now this, my faith in GM products are going down. had mine a year 30.6K mi.. like the eng/trans the rest is up for grabs

Got a call from a GM customer rep at 5:30pm today, in responce to my email last night. Took the info from me, they are going to call the dealer and get back to me between 5:00 and 7:00pm tomorrow night. I did not expect a call back? Guess I'll hear from the dealer too.

I bought my truck used. Its a 2003 with about 55,000 miles on it and I have had it over a year now. Will the dealers fix the TSB items free of charge or is that more of a warranty item?

I have had GM cover things out-of-warrenty, but it appears your results in getting somthing done has more to do with the "phase of the moon" and "subterranean waters" than any GM policy. Especially in this case where there is a TSB, and the dealers still will not fix it, while under warrenty.

My AC blows cold as hell. Not so much when its 100 degrees outside. I have the Denso compressor and there seems to be nothing wrong with my system, other than all the water it produces. I could fill up a 5 gallon bucket in an hour I would bet. Does the upgrade fix this issue and what do I tell the dealer if I want the upgrade since nothing is wrong with my AC?

I have the Denso compressor on my 04 LLY and it will freeze you *alls off. However, at times in 90 plus weather and you stop truck for a an hour or so, uppon restarting the truck not changing a thing, the ac just blows hot air until it gets ready or I get *issed and play with the ac setting to get cold air again, then it's just fine.

heard back from GM, Dealer told them it passed the temp/humidity test so they will not fix it.

2 dealerships now and the same answer at both places. "Vent temps are well within range given the ambient temp and humidity."

Oh well I'm done complaining about it unless someone has the "magic" phrase that will get them to swap mine out.

Ask them to show you how they do that. It will crack you up.

You bring the TSB, stick in their face, and tell them if they don't do it, you are going to call every consumer resource available to you.

In the process get a thermometer at checker, and do it yourself. You need to be able to drop the vehicle 30 degrees from ambient. In a lot of these it can't be done.

What I found was that my vent temps didn't come down much with the ridiculous test they run, what was significant, was my Hi fan temps were way down, added a lot to the system capacity. I don't know why an accumulator would do that, but it did.

Another thing you should do is put a "nose shroud" on the truck. That will help a lot also.
