: Squeak in steering wheel when turning left?
Camp I am 08-08-2010, 03:01 PM It sounds like a squeaky door and I can feel it in the steering wheel. Happens only when turning the tires hard left at very low speed or when in a parking lot doing same. Doesnt do it all of the time? What would cause that? Feels and sounds like its coming from the steering wheel? :knight:
balljoints/tierods/pitman/idler all well greased?

Mine does the same thing, like it has a steering column bushing that needs lube.
gandgracing 08-09-2010, 11:39 AM Mine also does it.

Yes I believe so, did all lube points last oil change (about 6k ago, running synth oil). Sure feels like it's in the wheel
Sierra13 08-10-2010, 03:25 AM i'm throwing my ballot in on this one too...i went underneath 2 weeks ago and greased everything and it seemed to go away but today i heard it again...i'm stumped i've been battling this thing for the past 2 yrs
rtquig 08-10-2010, 06:59 AM I've been hearing it also, same thing, hard left turns slowly never hear it from the right side. Front end is always greased. Almost sounds like the steering wheel itself is rubbing.
Camp I am 08-10-2010, 11:33 AM Agree, it sounds & feels like it's rubbing on something. But what?
bigjoseph 08-10-2010, 02:30 PM mines been doing the same thing, i have seen a couple come in the dearship for a similar sound and we replaced the sir coil behind the wheel or re route the harness.

markw8 08-11-2010, 12:09 AM There is a TSB about this type complaint. They change a rubber seal at the firewall that I think the intermediate shaft rides in. On some trucks they also also shim the box for a better position through the seal.
Ifound my copy, the TSB# 06-02-35-003C June 26, 2009 Rub or squeak noise while turning.

Yup, I can't look at it either.. Why these things are so secretive I don't have a clue. Any way to print it out and scan it to post as image?
peppersac 08-12-2010, 04:58 PM Yea mine has done this for 2 years now.
Charles Myatt 08-12-2010, 07:01 PM My 09 has done it once in a while since away from the stealer (Covert in Bastrop, TX). Did it to shop foreman when in for first oil change and he said they'd have to pull the wheel off and to make appmnt.
Just living with it as it rarely does it, but, keeps you awake when it does!!!
russellqueen 08-24-2010, 06:18 PM My 06 just started doing it about 10,000 miles ago. Really annoying when in parking lot. Greased the heck out of everything. You can feel it in the steering wheel as well. I recently had new pitman and hubs with alignment, so it is not that.
Any thoughts????
Camp I am 08-24-2010, 07:45 PM Just got back from a long trip, mine hasnt fell of yet.. LOL :nutkick:
