: best stack - Quad/HJ or PPE hot/HJ
lots of toys 07-20-2005, 03:12 PM I've done a lot of reading and research, but have not found anything close to a definitive answer on which stack is better? I've already got the Hot Juice and want to know which programmer has the least problems and most HP & TQ on top of the HJ. I don't want to go with TTS extreme, because of not being able to go back to stock (no offense tts enthusiasts, just my opinion). Has anyone done any dyno with the 2 different stacks or drag race times? Anyone have any experience with the 2 stacks?
Thanks.
ratlover 07-20-2005, 03:22 PM I have my stock ECM sitting in my tool box. Back to stock in a jiff ;)
Moss022 is up in northern IL, I duno if he still has his quad, you may be able to try his out or try to make the next DHRA event up in WI in late aug. Might be able to con someone into letting you try thiers? I think there are a few guys up that direction(MI too) with a PPE, given enough time to try and sort it out you may be able to set up a "shoot out" of swaping tuners at the event? Maybe a manufacture wants a part of this too?
Probably should get some lift pumps on your truck.
lots of toys 07-20-2005, 04:08 PM I tried Moss022's Quad 215 on top of my HJ level 5 with no bursting. In fact, it pulled better than several other TTS Extremes, AND THIS WAS MY FIRST COMPETITION!!! I got 2nd place at 314 feet, only 5 feet behind another duramax that did not have a TTS Extreme.
Everything went great, until I twisted the drive shaft in two just in front of the rear diff yoke :( just as I was getting off the throttle.
Just trying to find out if the hot PPE would stack even better than the Quad on top of the HJ.
(Sure hope the FBI doesn't think we're sending some kind of encrypted message.):h )
The truck that won was running a TTS extreme , there was only one other extreme equipped truck there and he broke too.The PPE is a good runner from what we are told havent tried one yet in any of our trucks .I know the xcelator stacks well with the h/oj but not sure on a hot xcelerator.NLDP
teamhertz 07-20-2005, 07:48 PM I have the PPE Hot(upgraded) with HJ/AT. I have been running the Xtreme tune with HJ on level 2 with no problems, for about 2 weeks. I have not tested at the track or dyno. I am hoping to get to the track on friday. I told PPE the box was going to be stacked with HJ and they made the changes while doing the update. I still have to change the fuel/oil and install the SD tie rods before I run. Hope this little bit of info helps.
on my truck running the first version of the hot xcellerator it buy itself ran better then quad/juice stack, mph anyways , when i stacked it i gained 1/2 to 3/4 mph so it makes more power stacking, i have not ran the new version at the track, but was running a newer stackable(less timing)version with the juice on the street and it was the best the truck has felt by the a$$ometer anyways

ratlover 07-21-2005, 09:43 AM under 6k  the truck aint that stripped down. Still had brackets for the hanging weights on it at indy didnt it?
fredw 07-21-2005, 11:30 AM any idea what a 1000lbs extra would add in a 1/4 , good job on the times
Elowe65 07-21-2005, 11:47 AM at 6290, I have the truck making around 689-710 hp to go 11.07, so at 1000lbs less, with the same power, et should be in the 10.55-10.65 range. At 1000lbs more, with the same power, the et should be in the 11.50-11.60 range.
lots of toys 07-21-2005, 12:19 PM Could we get back to the question - which stack is better? Who has real experience with both stacks or who has put both stacks on a dyno?
Don't mean to flame anyone, but I'm really interested getting some info.
Thanks.
fredw 07-21-2005, 06:24 PM the best hp stack i have run to date was the 210 powerpup and the 150 va smartbox, it did 52x with just over 1000lbs of tq, but did have timing rattle, on a mustang, then add lp and wi and your around 600hp with 1200tq
