Wasn't sure where to post this, but I guess it's a "Maintenance" issue. Anyone know of a Smog place not too far from Concord, CA that will smog a diesel at reasonable price? I just went to 4 different places and they are all trying to double the price when they learn its a diesel. Anywhere from $75 to $100. I thought there basically is no test for the diesel so it should be less work for them?

I went to Tri Valley Test Only Center in Livermore. With all of the fees, it was $60.00. He said all they look for is modifications and anything that looks like a programmer on the dash. I took my Insight monitor off just in case.

Thanks, I found a guy in Walnut Creek that did it for $50. Absolutely rediculous. He spent all of about 30 seconds on it. Never even got in the vehicle. Glanced under the hood that I already opened, glanced at the exhaust, and checked 6 questions on the computer screen. This state exemplifies everything wrong about our country.

Charging extra is a complete rip off. There is a guy in Garden Grove (Century Smog) that does them for the same price as gassers $40. Best price around, so I use him for all my cars. Hopefully that will help others in So. Cal.

Did you have a tuner in the truck?
