Just got EFI live and V2 Flashscan. Loaded a Duramaxtuner tune with tire and fuel gauge changes and was off. What I haven't been able to figure out is how to get my stock tune and my power tune on the V2 so I can leave it in the truck to flash in case of emergency. Is there a how to or something I missed? I get an error that says options.txt not found.

you need to download the other efi live program as well as the 7.5.xxx. You need the 8 as well, then in the 8 you go to black box logging setting and have the handheld hooked to the computer and then have to Program the handheld(v2) and then you'll be able to do what u want. You program your tunes into the v2, then be able to flash them into your truck. Dont forgot to pull out the radio fuse as it probably wont tune with it in...your options.txt will be one of the things you program into the v2 thru the EFI 8 program > black box logging > then do your settings etc.

I use my laptop to tune my truck so you'll have to read the help section or go to the efi live site and find a tutorial telling you how to load the tunes into your v2 and then flash to the dmax.

Good luck. If you need more help please feel free to ask

I got the options.txt file loaded like you said (Thanks). I loaded the tunes but it wouldn't flash them. I read the tunes after loading via the computer and disconnected the V2 to read them. Now it sees them and will switch between them. I still need to play with it more. I hooked up my DPS5 switch and loaded it but the tunes seemed much less refined than the single tunes I built (all Nick's scripts). It seemed like the shifting was rougher and the defueling was really bad as well. Do I need to use one of the single script tunes to build the DPS5 from instead of the stock tune?

Most people will use the Main tune on the dsp5 as the MAX tune you want ran in your truck, like the most counter clock wise click. Then 2-5 as whatever you want. Mainly it uses the 9 tables from dsp#1-4(#2-#5 if you count 1 click as #2. and the REST of the tables are taken from the #1(or most counterclock-wise) I have Nicks 360, 400, and 450 loaded into 3 spots. 1 spot for stock power, and 1 spot for a little smoke :)

Mine's 360-smoke-stock-400-450. When I sled pull its full to the right, 450hp max power at the moment for a stock trans, only when sled pulling, I dont run more than 360rwhp on the street unless there's another dmax or some real competition.

You can use V8 to configure the V2 for all Black Box functions.

Ok, I think you answered my question. I wanted stock-320-360-400-valet. I think what I need is 360-stock-320-400-valet. Doesn't enabling valet change 4 to limp mode or do you have to do something special? Realisitically I don't need valet since I never let anyone but the wife drive the truck ..... on second thought ..... Maybe I should put the 450 on in case of emergency. I work in Mexico and might need it sometime.

You don't have a script for your setup do you? Can you give me some insight as to how to copy your work?

I cant give out my scripts because they are from Nick @ Dmax tuner, even though you said you have tunes from dmaxtuner, I just want to cover my butt.

But just open two 7.5v tune programs. Make the 1st one your dsp5 program u want to load. and the 2nd one the individual tunes you want in them. copy the tables over to the appripriate ones and save and load.

You can do it another way but it might be more confusing...there are scripts that auto-load the dsp5 tables for you. Say you load the valet tune via script, then use the dsp5 #5 script and it will load the right tables into the #5 dsp5 spot, then run a 400hp script over the base(the #1 with ALL the settings not just the 9 tables) and then run the dsp5 #4 script and it will load all the right tables to the #4. do this until you have all the spots 2-5 filled. then run your base script, 360rwhp last and you will have:
#1 360rwhp,
#2 bla
#3 bla
#4 400rwhp
#5 valet

Personally I'd do 360, 320, stock, valet, 400hp < for your setup.
Soon mine will be:
360(normal everyday driving)
smoke(need I say more?)
stock(for those just-in-case I limp my truck 2 times while pulling a load times)
400(hot street race tune on stock trans)
500(sled pull)

I completely understand wanting to cover you butt. I read that disclaimer to and would do the same. I didn't see the DSP5 #5 script so I'll have to go back and look. I appreciate the help a lot, so thanks again. Since the DSP tables aren't labeled the same as the base I was wondering if I was doing it right. I'll have some time this weekend to mess with it hopefully and the light will come on.

For the timing tables use the ones in the base C for your dsp5. Search for Trippins DSP5 Scripts < It contains 4 or 5 scripts to pull the tables u need and put them into the dsp5 spot you want depending on what spot you want them.

Well, my laptop decided to take a vacation this weekend, so I didn't get to do much more than find the Trippin scripts. I'll have to see if I can find some time to work and understand how they work. I did find out I can load a tune into the truck via the laptop and read it on the V2 as a stand alone. I have my stock, 360 and 400 tunes on it now but I haven't figured out how to name them or load them from the computer vs flashing to the truck and reading. I just have to remember 001 is the 360, 003 is stock and 005 is 400. Not sure why it only downloads odd numbers in the V2 though.

...not sure. I havent had a problem with my laptop, I dont name them. Your can name them in the v8 "black box logging" tab I think
