I bought my first diesel truck this past Sat. I was able to manage to get a new 05 2500 HD 4x4 crew cab. Iwas actually after an 04 but they sold it before I got there. Then I couldn't resist the deal that they were offering. Anyways, I was reading about diesel engine for a while but condisedering that I never had one before, I need some inputs. I have read some articles about LLY injectors. How do know if they are overheating? How soon can you use synthetic oil in them? I heard for the first oil changes it is better to use conventional oil. Please let me know.

You're going to really enjoy your new vehicle. Plenty of posts on this forum relative to the questions you asked. Enough to leave you dazzeled. Read your owners manual, make sure you got the diesel supplement to the manual, follow the basic recommendations in the diesel supplement and you'll be cruisin' trouble free.
