These guys are going to want more info than that. Fill out your sig so we know what you have. Symptoms? Code number? Does the wait to start light come on? does it go out? etc

its a california truck
how common is it for glow plugs to go out on this motor?
could the controller say that the glow plugs are bad when infact it is the controller?
thanks for all help!

They go out periodically. It is fairly common for the federal glow plug controller to fail, but I have never heard of the california controller failing.

You can test the glow plugs with a test light or a multimeter. Good luck!

Remove your inner fender liners to access the glow plugs on each side of the motor. On the cali truck each individual glow plug will have its own wire leading up to the controller.

Test each plug one by one by removing the wire that comes from the controller. Next take a test light and hook it up to the + side of the battery. Now touch the test light to the end of the glowplug and you should see the light light up. If not more than likely that glow plug is bad.

Your profile says your trucks an '03. I believe it's still under the extended warranty for Glow Plugs.

they set up the appointment with the dealership and started a file if i had any problems
i will know more on the 17th and will post here anything new

I think that's the injector warranty.
