Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site, very good info here thanks.

I recently got a 1999 Suburban 6.5lt TD.
To anyone that knows or can shed some light, is it possible to bleed the brakes without using the TECH 2 scanning and diagnosing tool if so how is it done successfully?

Thanks Jess.

Jess,

Just bleed the brakes as you normally would, starting with the right rear, ending with left front. Good luck!:)

That's correct - nothing special. I just replaced my fluid about a month ago and the only issue I found was that the bleeder valve on the rear drum brakes is on the inside top and is slightly recessed. I had to use a small rachet which made the opening and closing process a bit slow.
I also find that the process is fastest with a crew of 3; 1 to operate the bleeder valve, 1 to pump the brake pedal, and 1 to keep the reservoir full.
