I'm about to do a radiator flush and was looking at the lower radiator hose, or at least, where I THINK it is. Can't see it from either top or bottom without removing something.

Is it a better approach to come in thru the bottom or pull out the air cleaner and go in from the top? Is the hose held on by a standard screw type hose clamp or some other type of a clamp?

Just for info, you know that your truck has 5 year coolant in it, just in case. the lower rad hose is a bear to get at, it has a spring clamp that will test anyone if i recall. I know its the doing the work yourself deal, i understand that. But this MAY be a case where a coolant flush done at a shop maybe something worth looking into??

On all the Chevy vehicles I have worked on, it has been the spring clamps. Can't help ya on how to get to the lower rad hose without looking at it.

when i did mine, I took the wheel off and the fender liner out so I would have plenty of room to work.

When you pull that line off , there's a O-ring inside and if ya mess it up it will leak. When you check the parts book you have to buy the whole hose, the O-Ring is not separate . I know on some of the gas jobs they recommend changing the hose if you take it off. That hose is like a spider web of lines and its about 70 bux up here...might wanna check into it.
