: Does Predator not remove speed limiter?

From all I have read here (and i have read a lot - this place is great!), I thought the predator removed the speed limiter from the truck. I just checked their website which says it only raises the speed limiter to 125 or so. Am I missing something?

I realize there are those who will say 125 is plenty fast enough and list many good reasons to support their opinion, but I want what I want...

TIA!

Your truck will only go 115mph.

Oh, and no product actually "removes" a speed limiter on an ECM type system. They change the value to a higher value, although it is odd they didn't change it to 255mph, which is what most products do.

Yea but someone would complain that that isn't high enough, right Pat ):h

Unless u go to some rpm increasing box your out of engine rpm @ 115 or a little more if u have bigger OD tires.

Mine runs 120 right at 3600 rpm, which is where it rev limits anyway. Since I used the predator to set for tire size it worked the same with 285s or 315s.

I forgot about the rev limiter (this is my first diesel, and my brain is still unlearning years of gas motor theory). So if I step up to the PPE which raises the rev limit, what kind of top speed is possible? What RPM is the safe ceiling on these things (the bottom end sounds built, so I assume it is not the limiting factor)?

Sorry for the rookie questions, and thanx for taking the time to enlighten me!

Some go way past 4000rpm.

IIRC I calculated it and w/ 285 tires it's getting close to 150mph.

The new 6 speed will get closer to 165mph IIRC.

Cole said in another thread that the allison won't like the rotational speed inside it of over 130...

Don't tell the No limit guys, they're over that.

Indeed they are. I heard you had a certain blue gmc that fast the other day. I would suppose that it should be ok for short times, who goes 120+ for very long? I'd sure get places fast, but so far I haven't got tracking tags on all the law vehicles...

I don't have tracking tags either but if I pass my brother (deputy sheriff) over 100mph he gives chase  , so I feel safer w/ his lights and siren that is until I leave him ):h ):h ):h

He defenitely needs a faster cruiser ):h

Can't wait for Steve's extreme and the higher rpm and closer to 150mph.

Anyone know how much it cost to get a CCLB dmax to Germany :ro)
