We sell the MBRP and Silverline systems which come with a muffler. However, we can include a muffler delete pipe with the system for not much more. Shoot me an email or give me a call if you are interested.

JamieMax,

The Duramax is a little different as compared to the other diesel trucks, in that the 1st pipe off the turbo is for all practical purposes not changeable, so you can't really get a turbo back. The 1st section has been played with and the just isn't any gains to be had by changing it, plus the install time is a beaaaaaaaaaar!!!!

What we have available for you is a cat back system available in aluminized, 409 and 304 stainless, we also have the front pipes that replace the cat. Remember that if you remove the cat that you might get an check engine light on some of the LLY engine trucks. There is a guy on this site that goes by "Fingers" that has a cure for that if you decide to get the cat pipe. We have muffler delete pipes that bolt in with our MBRP systems too at a nominal cost if you want to straight pipe her!

What we have seen so far is a 20-30 degree drop in EGT temps and 2-4 HP by replacing the cat pipe. Call us if you have any questions etc we will be glad to help you.

I'm also thinking of going with a 5" tip, but I'm not sure if it would make my ass look fat or not. Does the mbrp come with a tip?

MBRP systems do not include a tip. Not sure how to comment on the ass question? :confuzeld

JamieMax,

The aluminized and 409 stainless systems have optional tips available, we have them as 4 inch turn downs, 4 to 5 inch in various designs and even a 4 to 6 inch 18 inch long moster tip that will really help that "ass" thing! The 304 systems come standard with a 4 to 5 inch duall wall tip included in the price of the systems. Call us if you have any questions etc.

I say just cut the cat and muffler out and weld a piece of tube in the leftover holes...

You don't say where you're from, but presumably it's not one of the emissions testing states. But no matter, if you can't replace the kitty for inspection purposes (or when you might bring it back to the dealer), you could be digging yourself a hole of the legal variety if anything else might go wrong with your vehicle and they realize you've deleted the kitty. Some folks at a "smell good" organization in DC take a dim view of folks who go that route.

Diesels are exempt here in NC and he didn't get a warranty, so no worries...though I don't think he'll go for it.

If you unbolt the tranny hanger bracket the cat is easily removable. I had mine out in about 30 min. And the new front pipe bolted on in another 30. The sound the 4" straight pipe makes is well worth the trouble.

Is that supposed to be 200-300 degree?

20-30 doesn't seem worth it.

I got about a 125-150 degree drop with muffler gone and no cat.
