How loud is a 5 inch turbo back exhaust system when towing around 16k? Also with no converter and no muffler.

Do you have a long box or a short box, Crew cab? The reason I ask is that my brothers long box crew cab is way quieter than my short box crew cab. My 5" can resonate pretty bad when cruising around 55-65 mph.

its a CC LB im hoping that it want be too loud or drone really bad. does your brothers truck have a bad drone or is it better with the long bed

His isn't much louder than stock. He is running a straight piped stock exhaust. Do you already have the 5" exhaust?

I run a 4 into 5 on my 2002 and my 2005. I wouldn't run w/o a muffler if drone is a concern. I'd also suggest a bit less of the 5" pipe. My systems use a longer muffler for long beds to eliminate extra patch pieces, hide the trasition, and minimize the drone w/o affecting performance.

LBZ are not loud with no muffler. They just have more turbo sound. Sounds great. Go to youtube.com

I have a long bed straight piped and I do not think it's loud at all. Towing 12k

I run 5" straight pipe on mine and regularly tow a back hoe, and the sound does not bother me one bit.

i dont think it sounds bad at all. at least not for me in the truck. i have been told it is loud behind me:cool:

i just installed my 5 inch system and i think it sounds great. not very load as for a rumble but the turbo screams. ill be towing the camer this weekend so ill get to see how loud it is under a load but i dont think it will be very bad at all.

Love the 5" but I can't seem to drive long enough @ WOT:)!!! MBRP with muffler ExtSB. A little loud on long trips with the camper. I'm thinking about installing a Hushpower, anyone have one installed? What's it like?

I had a mbrp 5inch straight pipe on my EXSB and while bob tailing and towing it wasn't loud at all. I've always had gasser v8's with flowmaster mufflers and they were 10 times louder.

I now have a 5 inch mbrp cat back system with a muffler. Its really quiet and took away some power, but I had to do it to get my truck inspected here in the great state of PA.

I'm not towing 16k with a 5'' incher but my 06 LBZ with the 4'' straight pipe was quite on the way home towing my 02 LB7 from PA to GA when I finished school. That was 14hrs of towing with pure whistle bliss from the exhaust of my LBZ. Now the 7in stack on my 02 LB7 is def a drone king it will drive you nuts but I don't mind it i actually love it lol.
