Just picked up my new 2005 2500HD with D/A combo! Truck is awesome. Comfort, Power (310hp @ 605lbs/ft of torque). Traded in a 2004 F-350 powerstroke crew cab 6.0L diesel. Engine blew a piston and the torqshift ran like crap. I am now and forever a chevy guy. :grd:

I went from Ford to GMC.....I told everyone I 'Bleed Blue', but now I am a GM guy! I would always look at trucks and see what one I would drive next, now this truck is a keeper!

Towdog, I am with you. I really like the GMC much better than the Chevy. the 05's are a little better, but still I like the GMC. Problem was that when I went to buy one, I couldn't find anything but a chevy,so I bought it. Hard to find regular cab long beds with the Max and LS, or SLE options. Most are stripped work trucks.

It wasn't too long ago that almost all 4 door pickups were "work" trucks.

Thats true. They were used at construction sites to haul all the workers in the site and pull a trailer. Then it seems like some people thought they would be good for pulling a camper and the whole family, and it took off from there. Now they are mainstream, and most people don't even use the bed in them except for a 5th wheel. My brother uses his 4 door to pull his cattle trailer and haul the kids at the same time. Says he will not go back to a regular cab.
Actually, I just use mine to run around on the weekends at the farm, and pull a trailer once in a while. So, I don't need all that cab space. The dog likes riding in the back better anyway. :)

Maybe you guys can clear something up...besides appearance, is there any difference between Chevy and GMC trucks, or does GMC just mean "generic model Chevy"?
