Have an '04 Dmax 2500 and had this appear on my DIC today. Was in town running errands and turned truck off to go in a store, came out and started her back up and this came on. The 4wd high and low and 2wd lights were not lit. While my truck was still in 2wd, you could not switch to 4wd. Truck ran fine on the way home. Owner's manual says to have the truck serviced but when I went back out to restart the truck everything seemed fine. Is this just a sensor/computer glitch going on or sign of things to come? Starting to remind me of the whole Water in Fuel problem baloney I went thru last fall and $400 dollars to the dealer stealer. Just wondered if other Dmax owners have had this come on.

I had the same thing come up on my 03'. The owners manual says to turn it off to reset it. I tried that a couple of times and it didn't reset. I was on the road at the time and stopped at a dealer in Flagstaff , AZ. By that time the thing had reset, they hooked up a code reader and said that a switch had caused the warning. They weren't worried about it and several thousand miles later it hasn't done it again. The Dealer spent 15+ minutes checking things out and didn't charge me a penny.

There is a sofware update for false set transfer case codes.03 -04 were both involved.There is a transfer case switch malfunction code set once in a while.C2725 Get the sofware updates checked.Usually lh and rh door modules,transfer case,radio,and drivers seat module if equipped need updates. Tim

Speaking of "door module updates", for some reason, my power rear door locks hardly seem to EVER work.... They don't unlock from the 'unlock' switch on the driver door, nor do they unlock from the remote switch? Any clue??

Take it to the dealer, there is a TSB on the issue and they'll fix it for you, if it is under warranty, for no charge.

Mine did it while on a trip and locked into 4 HI on the interstate.

I had to pull off and cycle the power a couple times to get it to kick back out.

we had an 02 that had service 4wd light come on, an 03, and two 04s that also had the lights come on. then it was never seen again. never had them serviced due to the fact the warning never came back on. all of them did it in the first 10k. our 05 hasnt done it yet though
