I would not recomend the Pro Comp lift. Go with the CST or RCD. Too many horrow stories from Pro Comp owners. Just my $.02,

Chris

I have two big gripes about the pro comp lifts from my own personnel experience. The fit and finish on the kit was crap, nothing lined up, there were scratches and dings on the kit when it arrived, and the parts were mis-labeled. The second complaint is the crappy shocks it comes with.

The RCD is a much better quality kit, great heavy duty coating, it always bolts right up, no hammering or jambing it in, and the Bilsteins 5100's are a great shock for the price.

This just my experience and if anybody has their heart set on ProComp lift by all means get one, but you have to wonder why a company gets a bad reputation?????

I am having a RCD installed on my 05 tomorrow. I put a RCD on my 03 and have really enjoyed it. I paid 2,200 each time which is not much more than the pro comp.

I had a procomp kit on my last truck with the mx6 shocks and had no problems out of the kit. The downside to this kit is the installation. It took almost two days to install by an experienced tech. You also have to do alot of torching of the factory brackets. THe kit does sit a little higher than RCD. You can also run a negative offset wheel (IE-hummer wheels), if you desire. I have the RCD kit on my 05 and so far I am happy with the ride. Plus it only takes about six hours for installation. If you are planning to do the install yourself, I would stay away from Procomp. Offroad in Scottsdale, AZ carries both kits. Ask for Phil Jr. and tell him David said to give him a call. 1-800-947-7007. David

Which kit allows for near stock wheel track?

Pro Comp or RCD?

ProComp since it is a full drop kit. The RCD is a knuckle kit which increases the track width.

I ran a ProComp on a 02 Tahoe with out problems. The truck was jumped and did not break anything. I would buy from them again.

Any idea the actual increase in track width in inches?

When I was looking at lifts for my '04 2500HD I was going to go with the ProComp because of the offset track. I saw 2 HD's at 4 Wheel Parts waiting for pick up, I did not like the wider track. (it looked to be about an inch+ ?)
I have not done the research for my new '05 but I won't get a lift that increases the front track.
I ended up just trying to level my '04 with T-keys... man that sucked. Ruined the ride and all I got out of it was 285's. (for that ride I would have needed 35's!) :ro)

This is a picture before I put 18x10s on the truck, these where 18x8.5 wheels they stuck out about 3-4 inches. I thnk it looks real nice.

Pro Comp will not increase the track width. I think that in Sept 4 wheel parts runs the free install with lift kit purchase special but since you are going to do your own install that doesn't matter. I would assume that 4 wheel parts would have the best price. You could always check Ebay

I love my Pro Comp lift. Take a look at a truck with a fabtech, looks like the a-arms grew about 6 inches on each side, and they stay dirty b/c the tires hang outside the fender flares. My directions were easy to follow, except for one missprint on the passenger side drop bracket and i got all that straightened up, other than that u would have to be a dumbass to mess something up. My truck lined up perfect also. I looked around before i bought and i told 4 wheel parts that i could get it for 1175 on ebay and they gave it to me shipped for that price. I couldn't pass it up. In my opinion Pro Comp is a win win situation, cheap and looks badass!
