I have heard conflicting stories on wether your "fuel range display" will read correctly with a larger replacement tank..
I am thinking that if the range is calculated by the fuel gauge input, then it should read correctly...
Thanks for any input!

I have a 48 gal tank from Areo Tanks in Corona with the stock fuel gauge parts inside the tank. My gauge reads full for about 150 miles then drops alot slower after that. My range is a little off. I can almost times it by 1.5 to get my actual range.

I have a 45-gallon transferflow tank in place of the stock 26. The user's guide tells you how many gallons you have at each 1/4 mark on the gauge - 45 at pegged, 37 at full, 25 at 1/2, 15 at 1/4, etc.
It's not as linear because the new tank has most of it's fuel in the lower 1/3 - due to the shape - so at 1/4 tank you have only used 30 gallons. If you really want to use the range you have to run it down to Empty (at which point you still have about 5 gallons). My dad never let anything get below 1/4 so I automatically get nervous when the gauge swings below 1/4. Low fuel light comes with about 4-5 left (only tried that once).
Easy to live with once you get used to the new readings.......
