I have a 2002 GMC Sierra. The speaker on the right front sounds shot. I was trying to figure out how to get to the speakers in the front (and back doors for that matter). So I can replace if needed.

I assume I need to take of the interior door panels. Is there a special tool or way to get them off so I don't ruin them ?

any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance,

Mike

There is a door trim panel removal tool that works great for this. Lisle makes one, and you can find them at Autoparts stores.

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00947320000P?vName=Sears%20Pro&cName=Professional&sName=Building%20&%20Remodeling&sid=IDx20070921x00003a&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=00947320000P

The first red one is the one I use, the second red one (curved) is for weird places, and the black one is for removing manual window handles (you can just use a screwdriver, although I prefer paint can openers for that). They sell the tools seperately, and all you really need is the straight one.

Hope this helps,
-Brad

C'mon Brad.... You know better:rolleyes:. Pushpins to attach the panel were on the '98 and older, and '07.5 and newer. Perhaps perusing this will help the OP....

You're right... My bad. I also was thinking of my regular cab, where it has push pins on the rear, and I need the tool to get to the speakers...

Shouldn't you be playing with your Hot Wheels? ):h

There are several screws you need to remove as well as a bolt under the cover for the door handle. I can't remember if there is one under the window/door lock switch panel but if you can't get the panel off by lifting up and out look there. It just snaps down into place. Its been a few years since I changed all of mine out so I'm working from memory and I've slept since then.
