hey all

If you ever notice black soot building in your tailpipe make some hard pression to yout dealer

That means that your dpf is cracked

if it is under warranty, if you ask them to change it, they need to change it no argument.

period

its not true that a diesel will puff black not wirh a good running dpf

So, you got yours replaced? Sounds like BS to me what the dealer said...

I'm pretty sure emissions equipment have longer warrantees than the rest of the truck. This is not just a GM thing but can apply to any new engine with emissions equipment such as a semi, tractor, or pickup truck. I don't know the specifics but you can always inquire.

My Ford had a 70K mile emissions warranty, I'm pretty sure 70K is standard for all manufacturers. I'll have to check mine.

I believe that the 7.5 up gm has a 50,000 emission warranty.
