: Pull lengths??
rcr1978 07-19-2005, 12:56 AM I was wondering how everybody was doin? I love my Dmax but I just saw a cummins spank everybody he had the longest pull out of the whole event. This guy had a pull that was over 500 ft and he run out of track so he had to let off. I think it was 530 something. I talked to the guy after the event and I looked the truck over it was twinned ,N2O'd, injectors, ATS intake & exhaust manifolds, unsure about pane, DTT trans. I asked him what it dynoed at and he said 716 hp not sure on torque he said it was not load tested. He also had a weight bar so I'm sure that helped ton's. The truck was silver and had DPD and Bully Dog stickers all over it, I hope there is Dmax's out there doin this good.
rcr1978 07-19-2005, 01:10 AM I don't know squat about pulling and maybe it was a sled problem but it was the bigger sled and the guy said he pulled 460 or 480 on the last event. He was running on BFG all terrain KO's I about sh!t when I saw those wusy tires I think they were 285's or 95's.
ChrisF 07-19-2005, 06:58 PM How far you pull means nothing (only when it’s the same pull for everyone).... every pull is not the same... Sled setup, how wet the track is, type of dirt, wind speed, time of day, humidity, along with other stuff, All play some small part. I have pulled 270 one week then 160 at the next pull on the same sled... its all depends. That’s why you see little 1/2 ton truck pull further than the 1 tons some times. The weight transfer is not always set the same.

:exactly: Plus, things can change from the first truck to the last truck on the same night. Sounds like a cool truck though. I hope to see more Dodge representation around here. In past years they were unstoppable, and this year they are staying home.:rolleyes:
I have three more pulls this week and two next week. I'll repost if something happens, but thus far I've been stopped only by the flagman. This year three different sleds, towns, days, and full pulls out the gate. Same last year. I'm pulling the Outlaw sled Friday in an exibition with the smoker tractors unlimited class 10,000+ to see if it actually does stop moving. I'll check back in if I spin out. Wish I could have got the DP stickers on for the newspaper write-ups. Been 3 weeks now..T
Cummin_Stroke_this_Dmax 07-20-2005, 01:06 AM Check my sig. 450ft stopped by the sled because people were too close to the end of the track. Four days later I only went 311 ft. on the same sled, same set up according to the sled guy. Different tracks. The last three pulls were all on the same sled, different tracks.
Ynot - The Iron Anchor sled guys said you'd be stout competition for me. By reading your sig, I'd sure hope so. I don't have much done to mine. The only thing that's beat me (around here,) was a Dmax on nitrous, and stupid 6.0 Powerchoke, (in my defense the track was loose - I have almost bald tires - and a partially plugged fuel filter, I'd love a rematch though.) I still have a lot of playing left to do, just saving my pennies.
Cummin' Stroke, haven't been to one with a 400+ track. All these seem to be 300 footers with stops at about 330/ 350. They say "no prob stoppin that thing (or anything else with proper sled set-up)", just hasn't happened yet. I'm sure it'll happen soon, especially with it becoming a local challenge to do just that. Just hope I get a good vid of it to see what to do next. Can't find the weak link this way. Except for low rail and boost, I may actually be about done with this thing (ya rite ;). Winterset is 7:00 tonight, Greenfield is 7:30 Friday (Outlaw), Boone is 5:30 Saturday, Indianola is 5:00 next Thursday, etc. Come on over! Most these guys around here run your same set-up (cept for a couple Dodges, or course), so maybe it'll come down to drivers or tires or whatever...T
rcr1978 07-20-2005, 11:00 AM There was only one Dmax that made a pull the truck seemed very stout but the guy was on and off the throttle it was an auto he seemed more concerned about the crowd and not making the pull so I'm sure he would have done better. I think the pull was around 230-250 feet, the guy with the cummins just eased into it he did not do much spinning until he got moving pretty good. I was thinking about putting my truck in since there was only one Dmax but I was scarred of limping the O'L ALLY. There is another event this weekend, should I give er hell? I may need to back some programming off since I have no tranny yet. Pointers glady excepted if anyone has some to offer:ro)
Max your programming, 18mm deep to drop the torsion bars (just count the turns), 4 low 3rd, don't lock the torque, ease into it and go like hell. Check to see if someone there has a Predator or whatever to clear codes just in case. Don't know if you don't try...T
Well, guess I repost. 107 degrees, 74* humidity pulling on clay = 294.7. 2) 1st places again, but it can definately be stopped by a sled. Feels much different when the tires don't hardly spin. I need tons more boost now for sure...T

moss022 07-22-2005, 04:00 PM just wait till you hit a sled or are the first one out and the seld is way to heavy, makes me feel like my truck has no kuhoonas!

I WAS UP IN TOMAH, WI A FEW YEARS BACK, AND THEY WERE USING ONE OF THOSE CAT FARM TRACTORS WITH TRACKS TO SET THE SLED. ON HIS LAST PULL THE SLED DRIVER WAS MESSING AROUND, AND PUT THE BRAKES ON. NEEDLESS TO SAY ALL THE CAT DID WAS SPIN. :ro)
AROUND HERE THEY HAVE CEMENT MIXER TRUCKS PULL. YOU LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE TRUCK COMPARED TO THE SLED, AND YOU SAY NO WAY WILL THAT SLED STOP HIM, AND SURE ENOUGH AT THE END OF THE TRACK WITH THE FRONT WHEEL'S 2 FT OFF THE GROUND, HE IS STOPPED. JUST FREEKIN AWESOME!!:D
I need my DP stickers to advertise this place. Ordered custom plates with my sig to match also. Also I sure do need help finding out why the snow kit is castrating my motor now. Bogs right into the ground, smoke rolls. Anyway, YTD tally (open entry);
Cambridge pull off: 1st place modified diesel- 1st place open unlimited

moss022 07-25-2005, 10:44 PM how far away are you guys from morrison, il?
You'd be around 230 miles from me or the next pull. Iowa's 70mph now, so 3 1/2 or so?
