Anyone have problems balancing Toyo AT's?
I have had them balanced 3 times, by two different places and they still vibrate bad at 50mph and at 70mph. I looked at them closer today and noticed that 3 of them took 1-2 7g weights and one tire took 12 weights. 84 grams on one wheel and tire doesn't seem right. They did this on my stock wheels and my H2's. I have an appointment at a Discount Tire to have them road force balanced tomorrow. My last two sets of Mickey Thompson tires were balanced two, maybe three, times total and i never had a vibration. I'm thinking I may have gotten a bad tire.

I have personally ran, mounted, balanced, and sold many Toyo AT tires and never had a balancing issue! They have always been great tires for me and my customers.

I have become unhappy with my Toyo M/T's. I have also had them balanced several times including the last time which was a road force balance. Two of the tires take 5-6oz of weight and I still get vibration at 45mph. I will be looking at another brand when I replace them.

No problems here with my Toyo A/T's. Big fan of Toyo ran both A/T and M/T and never had a problem and I travel at high speeds frequently.

I think that it was on TDR some time ago there comments were to have the excess weight of the rubber removed. Maybe find a place that does that and talk to them and see if you like what they say? I am sorry that I don't remember more then that. I saw a 5500 motorhome coming from Edmonton the other week and the front bumper was shaking terrably, it actually looked funny, I sure wouldn't want mine to be shaking that bad. Mine did shake some what bring it back to PG.

Sorry I havent updated this. So after having them road forced balanced they still vibrated bad. I went home and replaced the wheel with the most weight with my spare, and everything was smooth as glass. I ended up getting the offending tire replaced and all is good again.
There was physically something wrong with that tire. I'm just glad my truck is no longer trying to shake itself apart. After 6000 miles on that tire, I forgot how smooth these trucks actually are.
