I prefer, in order, Odyssey, Interstate, and AC Delco. Odyssey, imo, is the best battery you can buy, but they're not cheap.

I have Interstate batteries in my truck and my wife's Buick. As far as I'm concerned, they are a great battery. Believe it or not, I've also had great sucess with those Walmart batteries also. Can't remember the name of them, but great bang for the buck!

I have interstate as well. They work great, never had issues with them.

My 2006 GMC 2500HD 4WD Duramax original equipment batteries would not crank my truck this morning. Took them out and had them checked at the local battery shop today. The test said one battery had voltage but only 85 cranking amps. The other battery was in slightly better shape at 300 cranking amps. Voltage on both quickly dropped when a load was applied. Both needed to be replaced.

They wanted $180 for the Optima red top replacement battery.

Had to take my wife's Trailblazer to our preferred GMC dealer later in the morning and while there went ahead and bought two new AC Delco batteries (78-7YR) for my Duramax at $125 each.

In the past, I have had good luck with the premium Walmart batteries just plan to replace at about 3 years. My AC Delco new truck batteries lasted slightly over 4 years.

I prefer Optima red or yellow tops. Either are good choices. I tend to stay away from the autozone batteries and such. AC delco is also a good replacement

I have always liked AC Delco ones but that is what is in the truck now and leaking bad.
I also thought about the ones from autozone but I guess I am just scared of them for some reason.

I used to work there. If you do go down that route get the Duralast Gold ones. They have a 3 year free replacement warranty and a 5 year manufacture warranty. The 2 years I worked there I put a boat load of them in and a few diesels as well. I think they are a LOT better than they used to be by far. Plus the free replacement isnt to bad. Replace it no matter what. They were usually about $90 bucks if I recall. Its been a few years since so I cannot guarantee that price anymore

Not sure why your battery sprung a leak but I think any battery that isnt sealed all the way around could spring a leak. Just a thought. Its prolly personal preference and what you can afford. Buying 2 batteries at a time sure isnt cheap.

the autozone golds are 95.00 each and the interstates are 120.00 each. just not sure what way to go as 50.00 in my pocket is better than theirs but I don't want junk either.
