: Climate control sensor

Guys,

B.B.T. has the auto climate control. The little speaker-like sensor with the fan in it above my head buzzes like a nest of bees. I'm afraid the little motor in there is shot. What can I do, short of replacing it? I know the sensor is the culprit, because when I cover it with my hand, the noise quiets.

Any ideas?

Thx, Tom ):h

The temperature probe sits in front of the fan blades (the sensor is constantly drawing cabin air up in to the headliner with a small fan). You have to get the sensor out of the headliner and reposition the temp probe. This fixed the growl in my wife's truck.

Thanks mw!

Now the fun part......headliner!

Maybe I'll get to it when I get the guts to really tear the truck apart.

Maybe it's just dirty...it's dusty in Texas isn't it? I'd hit it with a shot of air from a can of keyboard cleaner first....

Mine went out and was fixed under warranty. It took about 30 minutes total after I walked in the sevice department. I wonder if the headliner had to come out.

Headliner just gets lowered with a steady hand...part is fairly cheap too.

Replaced lots of them..
