: Bump Condition from Stop and Steering Clunking

I have had my 2002 in a few times for these conditions. I had a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado with the same conditions but I fixed them because the dealer wouldn't cover it under warranty. I changed the trasfer case fluid to the Auto Trak Blue fluid and that fixed the Bump Clunk Condition, and then I replaced the upper intermediate steering shaft assembly and that fixed the Steering Knocking noise. With no luck I tried these same fixes on my Duramax Diesel and it didn't seem to help. I still have the bump condition when you take off you feel like there is something sliding back in place. I did some research on a new nickle plated yoke that is suppose to fix this problem, but the dealer feels all the characteristics of what I try to explain to them are normal for the truck. They won't try putting the grease in the steering shaft assembly, so I thought I might tackle that problem next. Any ideas, I would appreciate the info, Thanks
