1000 miles from home and headed back to Texas tomorrow. After crankin engine I'm getting some smoke from the glow plug / intake heater plastic box, or in that area. I've read about replacing the relays or the entire control module??? The smoke clears after approx thirty seconds and the engine appears fine. Any suggestions. I'd hate to burn up on the side of the road somewhere. I'm not familiar at all with the procedure to actually troubleshoot this particular problem or what it takes to replace the needed module or relays. Have limited tools with me. Thanks, TT

just checked a lil further, no smoke with ignition on, starts smoking soon as engine is running and appears to be coming from under the large lug with pos/red lead and some blue wrapped leads if that makes sense

Mine does that too. It hasn't been a problem so far. Not sure, I know the glow plugs take some juice to get them heated up.
