2010 Chevy HD DMax 3500 Dually 8600 miles all stock.

Sunday I noticed a rattling noise coming from the exhaust. Monday I took it down to the dealership ( I hate rattling noise, I can't stand it !!). Service Advisor wrote up a service request, he jotted down the concerns I had for the tech to investigate. Got a call today to pick up my truck. Service Advisor said the Exhaust Pressure Differential Sensor Pipe was cracked. It was replaced under warranty. No more rattling noise :)

I don't know much about the mechanical components from the truck but when I went under the truck to inspect the rattle..... I could see the vibration would stop once I would place a firm hold on two 1/4" brake line looking pipes located above the exhaust.
Anybody have pictures or links to what a exhaust pressure diff sensor pipe looks like?
Is this a common problem which occurs with these LMM engines?
If this Exhaust Pressure Diff sensor pipe breaks, does it reduce engine power?

What is the function of the sensor pipe?

Not common. Part of the emissions system. There are 2 sensors that go into the exhaust stream and tell the computer when there is enough restriction in the particulate filter (dpf)to start the regeneration process and burn off the soot in the filter. Good catch by the tech. A loose sensor would cause the rattle.
