I need some advise on my 93 6.5TD I have replaced all my Injectors with new ones; for a no start condition when hot. Must cool down for hours before it will start up. It cranks over fine but will not strat hot. I have tested the lift pump and there is good supply of fuel coming out of the retun fitting on pump while cranking. Any suggestions?:Nothing_f

when it won't start try and pour a gallon of cold water on the injector pump if it starts right up you need an injector pump. head and rotor are worn out

Should be a little bit more conservative - 'bout a pint of room temperature water. Chilled/fridge water could cause other things to crack. Gives same effect, less risk.

The cool water trick will only tell you what you already know, your pump needs work, more than likely a new Hydraulic Head&Rotor.

Well I thought a/b that yesterday after thinking a/b it I tried some water over the pump and after a few tries it does start. Then I come back to this forum this morning and that is all I read. So i guess youguys have been there and done that! thanks for the quick replies. So far the mechanical pumps are ranging from 599 -659 reman. Does that sound correct? Thanks again fellow wrenchers. WT

You might want to double check and make sure that they know your exchanging a 4911 pump with a known hard start hot problem.....or not ;)

Also check your batteries and starter. I had this problem with my truck. When I called the local rebuild shop, they told me to check the rpm in which the starte was turning the motor over. He said it should 170 or higher to hot start. I thought my truck was rolling over fine, but it was to slow. Turns out my batteries needed replacing. The rebuild shop told they always check that on 6.5's with this condition, because they have learned there lesson before. He said they had replaced few pumps and did not solve the problem of hot starts.
