I have a 07.5 and I am getting about 12mpg towing a 8,000lb trailer loaded. I really would like to increase my fuel economy. I am considering the following: cold air intake, programmer, dpf delete pipe, EGR block off plate. My question is who makes the best equipment and what brands has everyone around here had the most luck/success with?

Also I am wondering if it is possible to remove my cat now and not dpf if that would throw a code and if it would even be any benefit, I do know the dpf is the ultimate solution.

How much better do you want to get? I'd say thats not bad for a truck with a dpf. I get 12mpg while towing 12k# with my edge race on level 2 and no dpf. It will only get better without that dpf:cool:

You are doing much better than I did with my 6.0. The best I got was 13 empty, and about 7, or 8 pulling my 7000lb ( dry ) 5er. My LLY is getting between 12 - 13MPG pulling the same 5er, so I'm not complaining.

Finch.....Do Not remove the DOC(cat) with out the DPF. That is what generates the heat to clean the DPF. That's a simple explanation, you can do a search for a more technicle/detailed explanation.

What are the opinions on cold air intakes? The stocker seems to be pretty good compared to the older DMax intakes. What is the best one?
