: 4WD guys, good results so far with Cognito braces on.
McRat 07-18-2005, 05:37 PM A few weeks ago we ran Big Blue with 4 sticky street tires on it. Even though I had the Super Diesel tierod sleeves, the truck went severely pigeon-toed on launch, so bad we could not run the truck. The centerlink was rotating from the force of the launch. The common fix is the Super Diesel centerlink, but it reduces turning radius. While for shorter trucks it might be OK, we cannot afford to reduce turning radius on this truck.
Got a set of Cognito Pittman and Idler Arm braces for Big Blue from Kennedy Diesel. These bolt on over the stock Pittman and Idler arms and hold the pins in place to supress rotation of the centerlink.
Took it out to LACR for the DHRA event. Well it cut a bunch of 1.8's as low as 1.83, which was a 4wd burnout off the line. Truck went perfectly straight, no hop or dancing (which is what it always did in the past).
We will see how they hold up in the long run, but for now, I'm very happy with them.
IdahoRob 07-18-2005, 06:06 PM That's for the info McRat. I've not had the problem yet, but haven't had sticky tires either.

NODMAX 07-18-2005, 10:08 PM Sweet! That's good to hear. Got mine on Saturday morning, but we got rained out Saturday night.:rippedhan
Kennedy 07-20-2005, 12:12 PM Kinda wish I had done my 2005 when new as at 15k it is now feeling loose...
Slick 07-27-2005, 11:44 AM So, would it be a waste of money to put them on a worn front-end?
McRat 07-27-2005, 12:15 PM Perhaps try them on a worn front end. If they don't fix it, then replace the arms. I replaced the arms and put on the braces at the same time. Clyde at West Coast Diesel did the install as I could not get the arms off at home.
devil 07-27-2005, 02:10 PM Glad to hear they work. I have a set a I need to install.
More good results Big Blue didn't tow in at all at the sled pulls last night:D
noreaster 08-03-2005, 09:38 PM Seems that all of the toe-in problems were from Kat's leadfoot.
If the arms are shot & you don't mind alittle more radius, go with the Fabtech's, kills 2 birds with 1 stone.
Im glad I went with them, just figured I'd try something different.
Slick 08-08-2005, 11:45 AM What's the cost on the Fabtech's?
moss022 08-08-2005, 09:38 PM can you just buy one of the braces or is it a pair?
can you just buy one of the braces or is it a pair?
It's a pair :D Just don't do what I did and buy 2 pairs :o:
noreaster 08-09-2005, 12:28 AM What's the cost on the Fabtech's?
Figure $300 +/- pitman, idler & single stabilizer
moss022 08-09-2005, 07:23 PM what did you do with the other pair?
Slick 08-10-2005, 08:48 AM Was wondering the same thing Jeremy. We're like vultures when someone might have something good for sale on here.):h
