So I got my cognito uca levelling kit installed about a month ago. Now my front tires are bald. Turns out the shop basically threw down the instructions, said "well, this way looked more like the factory control arms" and installed the left side on the ride and vice versa. Then proceeded to align to stock specs. So I'm going back tomorrow to either-

A.get the control arms swapped and aligned correctly.

or

B.get the factory control arms put back on.

Now I'm considering doing this because (before I knew the arms were reversed) no tire larger than 265/70/17 would fit, so that's what I have. They look pretty goofy on my leveled truck IMO. So ideally I could go back to stock height and my aftermarket wheels will allow 265/70/17's without rubbing. And then when I get new tires I could (ideally) get 285's and the uca's put back on.

My wheels are 17"x8.5 and have +20 offset and 5.54 backspacing.

Can I get 265/70/17's to work without issue? The tires are cooper discoverer stt's. The wheels are american racing dale jr. series ribelle.

And second question, WITH the uca's installed, can I get 285's to run without issue on the same wheels?

I would go with option "A"

I agree. Get the UCA's installed correctly and then press on.

if they are installed correctly you can fit bigger tires.... no problem.... check my garage 33x12.50x20" 0 offset.

Option A all the way dude

I would fix your problesm known and move forward. Plenty of members with the UCA and been doing great for them.
