Anyone know where to find a 2 way remote for this unit? I may have one going bad and would like to find a reasonable replacement. Ebay has a couple but they are used and high priced.

I know I bought mine off of MAx Power, back when he was a vendor here. I know that he has since de-vendor-ized himself, and I think i read something to the effect that he stopped selling the units for DIY'ers. You may want to PM him and see if he knows where to source these, as it is only the key fob portion, not the under the dash stuff.

I have actually been thinking of doing the same. Mine still works, but the plastic loop broke that holds it to the keyring, and buttons have worn off. Thing has worked flawlessly for nearly three years now. Best money I've spent.

Yes, mine too has worked flawlessly and I really like the 2 way setup which is something I didn't think to much of when I got it. The only thing I wish it had was a way to pop my lock on my ARE topper seperately.

I think that it is capable, you would have to treat it as a trunk release, and may require an additional solenoid/relay.

Now that said, I wouldn't know the first thing in adding it, but I do remeber reading about the trunk release in the manual.

I think you have to get a separate actuator(?) for the topper. I was looking at adding some things on to mine when I put it on years ago. I pretty sure you can still get stuff from Tony IIRC the remotes where $50.

As for using the remote to unlock the topper, all you need is an actuator and then use the negative trunk release from the Astro to trigger the locks. Entirely doable if you want to go thru the work of running the wire and installing the actuator.
Are you looking for a remote for a 2205 or 2505? I don't remember a 2505 product. I do know that the replacement remotes for the 2205a/2205u are very pricey from the factory. I'm sure they were selling for $150cdn remote fob only. You will have to know whether you had/have blck/grey buttons or the red/green buttons. I keep looking for a cheap fob around also but they just never come up.

The actuator is already built in to the ARE topper. Currently, when I unlock the doors it unlocks the topper and visa versa.
I'm not sure how to do the topper by itself. I'd rather the topper stay locked unless I hit a button to unlock it by itself. I thought the extra programming ability would allow a trunk to be opened but not locked also with the same button...? Any yes, sorry it is a 2205a.
