Well I drove down to southern IL for a fair race and not only did my bike break down on me, but when I went to leave my truck wouldn't start. So there I was 3hrs from home at 10pm with a truck that wouldn't start. I finally got it towed home to the awesome price of $300, needless to say I am pretty unhappy. I am running the quad with DPF delete on the 50hp tune, for the last 2,000miles. I have been running the stock DPF delete tune for the past 20,000 miles. I noticed on the way to the track the truck seemed a little more smoky than usual. It ran great the whole way though and I think it got pretty good mileage. It did initially start on me then shut off. I would crank no problem just wouldn't fire. I tried jumping it, reloading the tune, and disconnecting the battery. I haven't changed the fuel filter in a little while could that be it? I would love to get some help on this because I don't want to have it towed to a dealer again. Thanks.
Sorry if the message was hard to read, but I am tired and a little pissed. I wanted to get this posted so when I wake up in the afternoon there might be a couple replies already.

Sounds to me you have a fuel issue. Change your filter and prime it. While you prime watch for leaks. I was having a similar problem. My WIF sensor was leaking and fuel would bleed down. The truck would start then shut right back off. Hope this helps

X2. Prime, watch for leaks, and replace fuel filter if needed.

I replaced the filter and it had some rusty water and dirt in the bottom. Truck starts but cranks for a while. I'm going to go to my regular station that does quite a bit of volume on diesel and fill it up. Anything else I should do? Additives? Pretty pissed, I know exactly which station I got the bad fuel from, guess I'll have to spread the word.

I filled up in Crawfordsville IN then drove down to Mt. Carmel IL. It sucked. I guess I learned to keep an extra filter handy. Truck is running fine now, I think I will put another filter on it in a 1000 miles just to be safe.

I use to carry an extra filter around then had to remove my toolbox now I have it back on and need to put one back in there
The LMM did not leave you stranded... It was the LMM driver opting for bad fuel from some schlock gas station...
West Marine sells a funnel that will not pass water... If you have to buy fuel on the road in out of the way places it would be an excellent investment... I use it for my boat and my tractors... I have not carried it in the truck as I normally buy fuel only at major brand stations - though I may rethink that...

Good to hear you got everything taken care of. I only live about 45 min from Mt Carmel so if you ever back down there and need something, give me a call!

LOL K8do, let me have it! Well until I knew what happened it was the LMM that left me stranded. Where I got fuel is actually off of a major (to us) highway in a large town. I learned to always keep an extra filter handy. Even if I would have known it was the filter I was still screwed, no where was open as it was close to midnight. Been driving diesels for a while now and this is the first one that I felt lost with when it wouldn't start. I like it way better than my old 7.3, but I was way more confident working on the 7.3 the the duramax. Probably cause it was always breaking down...
