My biggest question is what is the right one for my truck? Is there any issue with running one vrs the other in my engine? I have the 83.7mm ones in my truck now, but they average about 30 bucks more new, I can get them for a lot cheaper if I buy all 8 and pick them up from ebay.

Anyone know of a better place to pick them up at?

Thanks as always.

Don't know for sure but I have read that short vs long have different threads on them . Fine vs Course threads. Someone that knows will surely come tell you the difference.

the short injectors and long injectors had the same thread after 1983. 82 was the red block and had coarse thread long injectors, and some 83's were the left over red blocks with the same coarse threads. After the supply of red blocks was gone, the fine thread was all that was used from there on out.

The short injectors were used in the vans, for clearance issues at first. I believe 88 or 89 all 6.2s went to short injectors. I've had both short 6.5TD injectors and long 6.2NA injectors(currently installed) in my blazer.

Only major difference in the 6.2 vs 6.5 injectors is that an injectors with the red "band" around the center, means its a turbo injector and high a higher pop pressure of 2,100 over the N/As which was 1,800.

ok. Now here is a some what dumb question;

Is there anything wrong with replacing one whole side of injectors now and then replacing the other side in say a month or two?

Pretty sure replacing just one now and another down the road is fine. Not one side but 1 only. If you know which one is bad just try replacing it for now.

I know others will say different but I've heard that you need to keep the injectors the same length. You can have one new and 7 old or 4 new 4 old or whatever so long as they're all the same length.

i wouldnt do that. unlike spark plugs, used injectors spray pattern is different than new injectors. so youll have 4 cylinders running like new ones and 4 running like used ones. that unevenness of the engine might be hard on it.

ok.. then I will just replace all 8 at the same time. Thanks for the info as always

Hmmm I'm almost certain that I've seen 4320 and many others suggest pulling just one injector and replacing it. If you can replace one why not 4 or 3 or 7

1 injector ill say is ok. but i just dont think an engine running uneven is good for itself. but ive been wrong before ):h

I agree that an engine running unevenly is not the best but neither is buying 8 new injectors when you only need a few

Did not mean to start anything! :)

I am not sure when these injectors were replaced last, so I am going to buy some reman'd ones from here: http://stores.ebay.com/Mylex-International-Inc_Chevy_W0QQ_fsubZ528512014QQ_sidZ832023074QQ_tr ksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322

Has anyone ever purchased reman'd injectors before, or bought from this company? Anything I should be cautions of? Also, which ones do I need to buy?

I think $148 for 8 injectors is a great deal, considering that new ones will cost me about $600+.

Thanks,
Chuck

I don`t think you started anything. If there wasn`t difference of opinion there would just be one person on this site telling everyone how it is.
