Do any of the local chain stores (Napa, autozone etc.) sell these? Would prefer to avoid online purchase.

Buy from supporting vendors.

The quality is there, and a reasonable price.

Ebay always has really good deals, that's where I buy mine.

Same here. I bought my last bulk order on Ebay and got 6 fuel filters and 3 tranny filters for $125 + shipping. I know the last time I stopped by the local stealership I needed a fuel filter and he got it and when he handed me the bill for $85 I said "no thanks" and walked out. Since then I purchase all my accessories from supporting vendors here or Ebay.

If you have an authorized Allison dealer near you, about $8, and no shipping charges. If not, the supporting vendors here. I seriously doubt that you'll find an Allison brand filter at the discount auto stores.

$8... ??? WOW... Did I get ripped off? Mine are OEM filters from Ebay... how much are the fuel filters?

I also pick mine up at a local Allison shop. They are $7.71, plus tax.

i haven't got mine yet but i plan on buying in bulk from PTP. i believe in supporting the vendors on here. Because they chim in and help out. Eeven if i have to pay a little more i would still buy from supporting vendors. Plus some of them will offer free shipping....can you get free shipping on ebay???

Some people on Ebay offer free shipping. Besides that, I agree in buying from vendors here. I just ran into a deal, or I thought I did when I was in need of a fuel filter. I got the tranny filters with it. Ok, so the tranny filters are about $8. Did I get ripped off on the fuel filters, or at least the package I got? Or would you say that is a good price?

Thanks,
Jeff

FYI - WIX part #57701 is the spin on. Napa should be able to cross reference.

I get mine from Stewart & Stevenson Services, about $9 each.

I get mine from a truck shop, actually happens to be an International place but they cover a full line of Fleetguard filters. However Fleetguard does not seem to carry much Allison stuff so I get it from them genuine Allison parts. As stated about $7

When I first got the ambulance with the ISB/1000 it was very new and the only place I could get it was the Chevy dealer, cost $40! The next time I got it through an auto electric place (since it is a Delco part) and it was like $32. After that I got it from Wix aftermarket but still cost more than the genuine ones do.

Any more I go genuine on most parts. Had enough hassle with aftermarket crap.
