Been pondering long enough about adding some towing power to the LB7.Was going to get the Edge EZ,only need the three power levels that it supplies. Then comes the exhaust system(egt towing) which I really do not want to spend money on and like whats allready there.Gauges are probably very good investment if towing (10,000 lbs.).Now I am thinking the best way to go is the Edge w/attitude with all the safeguards it has plus the gauges to see what the EGT is really doing and if a four inch exhaust is really needed.I have beat my head against the wall reading all the posts on this site and between the lines getting some good info and hope that my conclusion makes sense to a few others out there.Has not rained around here for some time and the money tree is drying up so chime in please.

You will be safe with the OEM exhaust with either setup. The Edge EZ in the lower settings will be fine with EGT's and with the Edge/attitude you will be able to monitor the EGT's so you will be fine as well. Your transmission is the limiting factor so you will only be towing in Level 1 or 2 anyways. Level 1 and 2 run cool enough to tow with the OEM exhaust in my opinion.

SAYWHAT, from my experience pulling a 15k trailer with Juice/Attitude, much depends on where you'll be towing. If you're mainly in the flatland and want the extra power for short durations like passing or merging onto freeways, then the EZ alone will do just fine. You won't be on the power long enough to get into EGT difficulties.

However, if you'll be climbing long mountain grades, it's a different story. EGT can build up to dangerous levels and that's where the Attitude - with it's gauges and EGT limiting - is worthwhile. I like the EGT limiting especially. I don't have to be watching the gauge all the time. An exhaust system lowers EGT, which means you won't reach your limit so easily and/or you can use more power without going over the limit. A muffler replacement might be cheaper than a complete system and still give most of the benefit.
