Alright so here is my setup.
2001 LB7 4x4 215,XXX miles, Edge Juice w/ Attitude, S&B Intake, Magnaflow Exhaust.

Codes- P0380 (Glow Plug), P0089 (Fuel Pressure Regulater)

Symptoms- Surging ALL THE TIME, idle, driving, and decceleration, but not when I lay into it (Towing hard)

Little Fuel in oil.

More Smoke than normal (not white) ecspecially when it surges while driving.

My Thoughts- Injectors are going bad, gonna go to Merchant for that.
But something else is wrong here, maybe FPR.

Help- 1. Any input or knowledge is appreciated

fpr would cause surging, if you got a code yours must be pretty bad cuz they usually dont throw a service engine soon light, x2 on bad injectors also

Is there possibly another reason an FPR code could be thrown i.e. injectors.

I would do the injectors, then see if the surging is still there.

On my truck, it was surging at idle, and new injectors fixed the problem!

Doing injectors to fix an FPR sounds expensive. BTW titus, why are you always trying to sell injectors on this board? Become a vendor for chrissakes and do it "legally" before you get booted. Thru PMs and posts isnt right.

O/P, Curious if you have used additive in your fuel? If the FPR is sticking, that sometimes fixes it. Otherwise, Id buy a new FPR and install it. hdiesel.com has the best price on an LB7 and is a S/V of the site.

Glowplug code could very well be a bad relay or controller. Need to diagnose that to find out. Also check your bussbars connecting them together....those corrode and break.

I put a request in to become a vendor, and have not been replied to yet.

Until the forum tells me how I can become a vendor I am not sure what else I can do to comply with the rules...???

Yeah... you don't hock your wares on the site. Period. Neither by overt postings nor by covert PM's. Not until you become a supporting vendor... if you become a supporting vendor. Contact AutoForums - instructions are here: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=299968

If you want direct telephone numbers, drop me a PM and I'll get you those.

Just so we are clear titus was not attempting to sell me injectors through pm's or any other media. I have been using additive for 15,xxxx miles it has helped but still no permanent solution.

Thank You for your replys. I believe it will be FPR then injectors if need be. As i have already gone through the rat nest bundles on the drivers side and found no cracking or corrosion.

Do I have to be a "supporting vendor" ($200 a month!) to "hock your wares on the site" or can I just become a Vendor Member? ($150 per month)

You must be a supporting vendor.
