I have seen in the past that people don't recommend towing with their edge on level 5. I have the attitude and hot juice. I tow all the time on level 5. I just watch my EGTs and if they are getting up above 1250* then I drop the juice down. Is this ok? It rarely happens to get 1250* and it is usually with a good grade that is constant. Am I missing something here?
Thanks

Ben

Towing on level two (60 HP with my 4.61) was determined back on the diesepage forum to be max for those towing without gauges. It has always been a consensus to run gauges with any chip. I have switched from level four in drive to level two in tow/haul on the flats and pulling slight grades. I was in 5th each time and never noticed any differences in EGT. I am sure you are going to see 1250 sooner with the added power pulling long steep grades. I run mine the same as you. I never let it go over 1250. I can verify that the 4" will keep me in the yellow longer and in most cases the trans will down shift down before hitting red line. I could get in the red in 5th on several of your hills on I-15. Later! Frank

Got Juice?

With the attitude and juice why not tow in level 5? If you set the EGT limit to 1200F for example the edge will defuel when you encroach 100F before the setpoint in a progressive manner. Until you hit the threshold then it dials back 100% fuel and you are left with stock fuelling
