Greetings from a new member. I own an 02 GMc 2500 HD Crew Cab 4X4 with a Duramax and Allison. It has 152K miles and runs great. Recently it died shortly after starting and would not restart. I opened the bleed valve on top of the fuel filter and there was no fuel. I had it towed to my local diesel garage and they said they replaced the fuel pump relay and the truck started right up. Funny thing, they put the old relay back in and it ran just fine also. Another code was found that indicated the low pressure sensor in the transmission needed to be replaced. I picked up my truck from the shop and it ran fine on the ride home. Today it started, got out of the drive way and quit and will not start. Any suggestions?

Everytime I parked my 02 Silverado Duramax for more than 3 days, the truck would not start. It cranked over fine, but did not fire up. After towing it started great time and time again at the dealer. But finally after leaving it at the dealer for a week it didn't start.
They could not figure it out. They changed the thingamabobber that holds my diesel filter (has the primer pump on top) and no problems since.
Check it out.
Ciao

it sounds like you're losing prime. Have to tried a new fuel filter? Maybe a bad or improperly seated gasket could be the culprit.

Same Here, Truck is still in the shop. Started with the same problem you guys had to a tee. Now the truck has been in the shop for 45 days and will not run more than 10 minutes in their bay. They have replaced all injectors, fuel pump, all fuel lines, fuel switches, filter housing and the mech said he gives up. Now the local GM Trainer/Factory Tech is involved with a new Mech..Just think this all started with failed injectors. The Shop Manager says he has close to $10,000 on parts and time.

Still in too, Dealer has had my truck for 3 weeks. They are having G.M. Send new calibration tool for the new injectors that they installed two weeks ago. Apparently they can not get the truck running very well. My problems started with alot of crank slow start, then crank no start.
