Will the head unit from a 2003 H2 work with the premium amp or would it have to be reprogrammed? I found another one on ebay its part # is 15179349. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5788908115&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
I also found a lux amp its part # is 15113803. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5789121569&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Could these be used to convert to luxury sound?

That amp is NOT a lux amp...... will not work with that radio you posted.

Yup, in mid-year 2004 GM changed the H2 to a NON-LUX system (to save money) so therefore it wont work. That head unit is a LUX unit...it will work with a lux amp...but that amp, as bodysurfer said, is NOT a lux amp.

I've been watching near every Nav unit going down the pike on Ebay for a week. Flat out blew a golden opportunity on one a couple days ago because I don't have a computer on-road.

Watch out for a guy nicknamed "machomachodan".....he's been buying up every one he can in order to resell them later, or driving the prices way up on the ones he doesn't buy.

Little confused on your question.

Exactly what radio and amp do you have in your 03 now ? And is it the factory system still ?

sorry I have the factory bose system in my truck now. I would like to have the 6 disc changer but I'm not sure if I want to change the amp out too. Although everyone says that changing to the lux amp is the way to go. I'm not sure that the local dealers would be do the reprograming that a lux headunit would need to change to a premium amp.

You can just buy a non-lux 6-disc head unit (then you wouldnt have to switch your amp)...theres tons of them on ebay
...im gonna sell mine from my truck as soon as I get a chance to put it up on ebay...I removed it from my truck when it had 637 miles on it. Perfect condition...it works with the current amp you have in your truck..so no amp swap would be required. Works with XM, OnStar, DVD, etc. PM me if you are interested...otherwise ill put it up on ebay...if anyone on the Diesel Place wants it, id definetly like to give them first dibs on it.
