Thinking of upgrading my brakes since I have larger diameter tires. I'm sure I've lost 10% if not more of stopping distance. It's a daily driver. Any suggestions from pads, slotted rotors, whole brake systems, etc? Any real performance tests? Thanks

SSB makes a triforce caliper for our trucks. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes. No one here has them or at least has chimed in if they do.

I have run the Power Slot rotors and Hawk pads with very good luck. Better braking than stock, but did not last as long. Stock for me went about 125,000. PS & H went 60,000. I currently have EBC rotors and 7000 series pads ready for installation. Will let you know after it is done.

I will have them on the truck this Thursday, so I will let you know.

I got the EBC rotors from www.ajusa.com ($268.20) fast shipping, excellent service, but they did not carry the 7000 series pads. I bought those from www.summitracing.com ($100.00).:ro)

I've been looking into upgrading my stopperrs as well. Here's what I've found...

Apparently Brembo has released an 8-lug Gran Turismo Brake System for the Sierra 2500HD, Yukon XL 2500, and Hummer H2. It fits 2001-05 2WD & 4WD models. The two-piece, slotted, 15" floating rotor assemblies and 6-piston calipers. The kit requires 19" or larger diameter wheels. Each kit comes with pagid brake pads, hard anodized mounting brackets, and DOT approved stainless steel braided brake lines. This kit is very pricey, costing upwarts of $4,000 retail, per front or rear end. Some nose bleed, eh?

Thre is also a cheaper Brembo Sport performance brake system, that is designed to fit under the factory wheels. It uses the stock calipers squeezing Brembo cross-drilled rotors. Costs about $300 per end.

Eric M. and I were talking about this today and I have used several aftermarket brake systems and I don't feel that spending that much money will improve performance to justify $ vs performance analysis.

The EBC rotor and 7000 series pads with Russel Stainless brake lines Eric and I installed today are awesome.

Silverado Man/Mike - so define awesome. Noticeable stopping? If your truck was back to OE (with stock wheels) is it a major improvement? Wish there was before & after track results. Now yo need to update your sig ;)

Prophet - thx for the info. 19" wont work for me but may have to look into the lower end ones.

Silverado man, Where did you get the russel brake lines? How much?
I have Brembo slotted rotors and hawk pads, I was looking at the 3 piston calipers,$900.00 or so,I think I will give the stock calipers a shot. I`ve already spent alot on replace parts for the front end.

I have not installed any of the new parts yet

SD centerlink
Fabtech tierods, pitman arm, idler arm and steering stabilizer
Supersteer idler support bracket
Napa lower ball joints- both oem have torn boots
Motive brake bleeder and fluid

I got the brake lines on ebay for $135.00 delivered - part #695770 from Bonwitt Enterprises Inc. (305) -251-8228. I will have the Fabtech system going on in a couple of weeks and new upper Moog ball joints which I received today. I must say they are a helluva lot nicer than OEM (from rockauto.com, #K6696 need two, total cost $88.00).

Denali02 - What I mean by awesome, the stop is firm with no fade. NO DUST either. The rotors are slotted and drilled, which seem to feel better than the Powerslot rotors I had on it before.

OEM's lasted 125,000, but should have taken them off at 110,000.

Powerslot with Hawk pads - 60,000.

EBC with EBC series 7000 pads - to be determined.
