i have just orderd my heath pmd for my suburban and could someone give me a clue as how to go about installing the new one- i know how to mount in the bumper and route the extension cable, but from what side or angle do i reach in from to unplug the old and connect the new cable?
does the battery need to be disconnected to do this?
i have read all the pmd related posts in the 6.5 area- just looking for a few more details

thank you,
Patrick

You can use a coat hanger to unclip and unplug the wiring harness from the stock PMD in the engine valley. I go in on the driver's side from just above the IP. The Heath extension harness then runs down to wherever you mount your new PMD. It's pretty simple. Always disconnect the batteries when working on the electrical system.

You reach to unclip the connector from the front of the manifold.

The connector should be removed toward the back (push it backward) of the truck.

The fish out the connector using a coat hanger or anything that you can put a small hook toward the front of the manifold.

Then follow the instruction from Heath.
