i have a 1996 6.5td k1500 i been working getting the
evaporator core out. i have the dash moved back now.
does the heater core and blowermotor and evaporator
core come out togather? are the studs that hold it in on the firewall and do they have nuts on them? does anybody have any information or diagram on how to do this?:confused: any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

They definitely have to come out as an assembly. I've never removed this specifically on this truck, but they do commonly use studs with nuts in the engine bay. I'd send you a copy of what my Mitchell manual has... but it is completely useless. They don't tell you anything more than to remove the screws and bolts that hold it to the firewall.

The blower motor should come out alone. I've changed mine, twice.

As for the rest of the assembly...you poor bastard. Changing evaporators is a pain, no matter what vehicle it is in.
