chevyburnout1 07-13-2010, 07:33 PM WOW! That is slick looking!
javelina80 07-13-2010, 07:35 PM $4300!!! you can get lots of spray on bed liner for that price. It looks good, just way too pricy for me.
John Wayne 07-13-2010, 07:37 PM holy crap thats a lot of welding.
jrmsoccer32 07-13-2010, 07:56 PM yea pretty amazing i wish it were in mine if my buddy ever takes it out its mine lol
ryanryan 07-13-2010, 08:11 PM Whoever would spend $4300 to have that in their bed isn't right upstairs. That's just stupid, IMHO........
CountryBoy2500 07-13-2010, 08:45 PM I hate diamond plate.
jrmsoccer32 07-13-2010, 08:54 PM Whoever would spend $4300 to have that in their bed isn't right upstairs. That's just stupid, IMHO........

towdog333 07-13-2010, 08:55 PM Thats a lot of dough for a bed liner:p:
jrmsoccer32 07-13-2010, 08:56 PM Thats a lot of dough for a bed liner:p:
Yea it was 100% custom fabricated at a local welding shop
skyhigh4by 07-13-2010, 09:00 PM My grandpa had something very similar to that made when he bought his 1990 F350 and its still in there to this day and looks pretty much the same as it did in 1990 just not quite so shiny. He had a friend do it though, I dont think it was anywhere near that cost. The same guy also built welded aluminum boats for us.
txguppy 07-14-2010, 01:38 AM Does he have and cushion between it and the liner? If not, its gonna scratch up his bed something fierce.
ob--one 07-14-2010, 08:54 AM Not my look but what ever floats your boat. My question, isn't this asking for trouble down the street without a liner between the two metals. Aluminum and steel don't play well together I thought.
6APPEAL 07-14-2010, 09:10 AM Wow, that's just sick. A whole lot more money that I would have spent, but it's your truck. Dare to be different!:p:
John
SpeedyV 07-14-2010, 09:22 AM Man, I would cringe at the first ding...
jrmsoccer32 07-14-2010, 04:47 PM Ha it's been thought of it's line x-ed in between
svdstar 07-14-2010, 07:01 PM $4300... wow. That seems pretty steep to me. There's maybe $500 worth of floor plate there. I own a fab shop, certified steel and aluminum, and we did one similar to that on a Ford long box about two years ago. I had one of my apprentices fab it up and charged him $2000... cash. For $4300 he should of had a built in tidy tank or tool box included.
irogers 07-14-2010, 09:52 PM I had thought about doing that to my truck. Guess I'll go a different route now atleast a different design may stick with the diamond plate though. Looks great!!

Well the extra could be accounted for pretty quick if it wasn't an apprentice (regular shop rate) and wasn't paid for in cash plus he wrote it off as a business expense so i don't think he cared to much.
Gater96 07-14-2010, 10:19 PM Cost aside, you gotta give credit to the creativeness and craftsmanship there. Pretty cool and unique idea!
plowboy-one 07-14-2010, 10:30 PM that is sweet!

Even still... at say, $72/hr shop rate and 20% mark-up, it would have taken 45 man hrs, at which I'd have a problem with if it took that long in my shop. Don't get me wrong, it looks well built and the welds look solid... it's just hard for me to justify the cost. Also, apprentice or not, I still charge the same shop rate and cash just means... no tax.
HiDo1AR 07-15-2010, 02:41 AM well theres people that think we're all morons for having trucks that are as much as ours are but thats just life it still looks sweet you didn't buy so no worries
I agree 100% because when people say nice truck how much you got in it total and you say close to $48,000 they say your a moron lol I bought my house cheaper than that.
thmsfraz 07-17-2010, 08:36 PM Very niceeeeeeeeeee.Would love to have one like that but i am old school and still like chrome or in this case aluiminum.:D
ottomatic 07-18-2010, 11:04 AM Ha it's been thought of it's line x-ed in between
What about if the bed ever needs to be removed????????????
Mallack 07-18-2010, 11:20 AM Awesome bed liner. I could get behind something like that, definitely. But, heck, the liner'd cost more than my truck.
Diesel Wanna Be 07-18-2010, 01:20 PM What about if the bed ever needs to be removed????????????
Looks to me like after removing the 5th wheel it would probably lift right out.
Looks nice, but, appears to be more show than go.
No tool box, no tie downs for cargo... Slick as snot if you put anything in it.
Throw a liner in it and it'd make a great hillbilly pool!!!
WellShooter 07-18-2010, 01:35 PM I hate diamond plate.
X2
jrmsoccer32 07-18-2010, 03:21 PM What about if the bed ever needs to be removed????????????
Drill the rivets out and it'll come right out. It's actually made around the gooseneck hitch so it'll lift right out.
fly5150 07-20-2010, 10:12 AM looks nice.
mnnmaz 07-20-2010, 10:28 AM I dont know what to say....guess its better not to say anything. :D
dozerboy 07-23-2010, 09:09 PM Thats cool, but I just can't help and think about all the times I have burn the shit out of myself on diamond plate in the sun.
Papuller86 07-23-2010, 11:24 PM i guess what ever blows your hair back, he bought a 4200 dollar bed liner, i would have bought a better turbo, and go fast goodies
jrmsoccer32 07-24-2010, 09:43 AM i guess what ever blows your hair back, he bought a 4200 dollar bed liner, i would have bought a better turbo, and go fast goodies
He doesn't have anything related to performance on his truck whatsoever. It's bone stock so he can keep a warranty.

thats not really what i ment, im just saying if he wants to spend 4200 of his own money on a bed liner so be it, i would have spent my 4200 on preformance parts thats all

Bartman432 07-27-2010, 12:24 AM $4,200......that is what my built trans cost. It is different and unique. I would hate to keep it polished up.
GMC2500HD 07-27-2010, 10:07 AM Very cool looking.
glamisorbust 07-27-2010, 02:12 PM It looks cool and is probably very strong. For my money, I can buy a TON of fuel. I didn't want to destroy my bed, so I got myself a $20 plastic bedliner off of craigslist. I have hauled so much stuff in the bed of my truck i'm definitely getting my $20 worth.
