Here we go again with this P0403. The first time I got this code I fought with the dealer to replace the EGR motor due to mods I had done to my truck. They finally replaced it under warranty and all was good. I had the finger stick and blocker plate waiting at my house and installed both within a day of having the new motor installed. Now just about nine months later with less than 5k miles on the new one I got check engine light again with P0403. I don't have the cash for EFI live right now nor do I know anyone in Myrtle beach SC that has it so thats out for now. Has anyone else had this problem? Or have a fix? 27K total on truck now.

My preference has always been to take care of this in the tuning. The EGR valves on these trucks are prone to fail. When I do a tune the EGR valve no longer has to function and it's fixed once and for all.

I'm just waiting for the money tree to sprout. My plan was to do just that, take the egr out of the equation with tuning. I was just wondering if some thing else could be done in the mean time? After having it replaced and finger and blocking it right after i didn't expect it to fail again but i guess these things are poorly designed!

I think your finger stick went bad or the connections are not tight or maybe came apart.
