Hi guys/gals:
I am new here . I am also new in diesel world. I am seriously considering to buy this 04, 4x4, crew cab truck with 47000 mile on the tab. It is in chevy dealer and chevy certified. It looks pretty clean in and out. I have not driven yet, hopefully tomorrow. The price is around 28500$. I ran the vin and it was clean. Also I know it has LB7. I would appreciate your opinion about everything including the price. What should I look for? If I buy this truck tomorrow, you are gona see me here often.
Thanks.

doesn't seem like to bad of a deal, but the LB7 is definatley the engine you want

Ok, why the LB7 ? I would have thought the LLY with variable vane and easier to replace injectors, more torque, etc, etc would be the one to have. Got to admit that I like my stock LB7 with 39,000 on the odo ... it's all good except for the turbo lag.

Ask anyone who has had both. The LLY has less low end power and does not get anywhere the same MPG. I have friend who has thought about trading his LLY for an LB7. He had the 2002 and traded for the 04.5.
When I ordered my Edge Juice from a neighbor, his comment was I had the good engine.

I put on the Banks Monster Exhaust and it helped alleviate that problem. A very noticable improvement.
I like my 04 LB7...26K and no problems except the current price of diesel. I'm not racing it but I did add the J/A for more power towing and it makes as awesome improvement. Ask the dealer what are the current incentives. You maybe eligible for 2.9 financing or something with the chevy certified stamp...........

The main thing I hear from the LLY owners is the Censored fuel milege they get.It sucks. My neighbors LLY gets 12mpg empty-:t . My LB7 gets 17mpg hauling a$$ empty and 21mpg empty driving decent. Seems most LLY's are somewhere around 15-17mpg.

Aw shucks ... with the rebates & GM emp discount, I've been running the numbers and trying to figure how to buy a new 3500 CC dually.
Good news is I've got the LB 7, bad news is 3500 dually-wise, I guess it looks like I'm back to square #1 :confuzeld
Thanks,
Bill
